Britons 'looking to renovate'
Britons who are feeling fed up with their homes and are looking to make changes to their living environment have been advised by one sector
commentator that a renovation project is "much more convenient" than attempting to find a new property.
Andrew Leech, director at
the National Home Improvement Council, said that the cost of moving could currently be as much as adding a small extension.
Homeowners may
also wish to keep in mind that new double glazing ( http://www.force8.co.uk/index.php ) and composite doors could not only
give a home a new lease-of-life by improving its appearance, but it may even boost its value due to the increased insulation.
"You are
getting the best of both worlds - you are getting more room and you are not having to lay out so much money either," Mr Leech commented on the
benefits of an extension - which may include a conservatory.
AA Personal Loans reported in April that 24 per cent of all properties were
expected to add an extra room before the end of the recession.
