Can new front doors help beat recession?
Spending on DIY has increased in recent years, as more Britons opt to stay put in their current property, rather than moving up the housing ladder, it
has been claimed.
According to UK Bathrooms, in the run-up to Christmas it appears many Britons are splashing out on home improvements, which
could be part of preparations to improve their living space ahead of guests visiting over the festive period.
Indeed, the group claims that
updating a house "has never been so popular".
With this in mind, consumers may wish to give the exterior of their property a
facelift by investing in new front doors ( http://www.force8.co.uk/ ) and double glazing, which could see them adding to its appeal for when they decide to sell.
"We all know in the past ten
years spending on DIY has increased, however, since we entered the recession [...] we are seeing more and more resilient homeowners trying to beat off
negative equity they have found themselves in by turning to home improvements," UK Bathrooms claims.

presenter Phil Spencer recently spoke as part of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings' annual National Maintenance Week, stating that
keeping a house well maintained is important.
