Homeowners could grow their own in conservatories

Conservatories ( http://www.force8.co.uk/conservatories.php ) could be the perfect home renovation for the summer as green fingered Britons may wish to use the space to grow their own food.

Lucy Halsall, editor of Grow Your Own magazine, said there are certain instances where cultivating fresh produce at home can save people a lot of money, but that there were plenty of other benefits to be had as well.

"Fresh produce keeps you fit and healthy, there are lots of other reasons for growing your own," she explained.

Ms Halsall claimed that there appeared to be more people embracing the hobby of gardening and that it was a pastime which, once taken up, was difficult to stop.

Conservatories ( http://www.force8.co.uk/conservatories.php ) can be useful refuges for the green fingered as they can provide views of and easy access to the garden.

In addition to these benefits, Britons can also use the place to grow plants which need plenty of sun and heat, due to the amount of natural light conservatories get.

Plants which may thrive in conservatories include tomatoes and citrus fruits.
