Double glazing news - House prices rise

House prices rose slightly in March, which may inspire people to consider selling their homes by making it more attractive to buyers through improvements such as double glazing ( http://www.force8.co.uk/index.php ) and composite doors.

According to the latest figures from the Halifax House Price Index, property prices increased by 1.1 per cent during March, which made moves to offset the 1.6 per cent fall recorded in February.

This increase mans that house prices are now 9.1 per cent higher than they were in April last year, following eight recorded increases in the past nine months.

Commenting on the figures, housing economist Martin Ellis said: "There are signs that an increase in the number of properties available for sale is beginning to reduce the imbalance between supply and demand."

In order to make their homes attractive to buyers, Britons may wish to consider investing in double glazing, a feature the Energy Saving Trust claims buyers are on the lookout for when they view a potential home.

Composite doors could also be worth investing in, as, unlike timber external doors, the fixtures are not likely to crack or warp and let in cold draughts.
