Double glazing news - Britons 'billed incorrectly'
One-third or Britons are being wrongly billed by their energy providers, it has been revealed - which may prompt homeowners to invest in money-saving
fixtures such as composite doors ( http://www.force8.co.uk/ ) and double glazing.
According to research by uSwitch.com, within the last two years, 30 per cent of households have been
incorrectly billed by their utilities supplier, while 43 per cent have found themselves unexpectedly owing money due to a discrepancy between an
estimated and an actual bill.
The average amount owned following such a discrepancy stands at £153, eight per cent higher than last
year.
Such inaccuracies take an average of two months to resolve, with 71 per cent of households admitting they have given their own meter
readings to suppliers in the last six months.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at the price comparison site, said: "The fact
that more households are providing suppliers with meter readings will play no small part in improving the accuracy of our energy
bills."
In order to reduce their energy bills, Britons may wish to consider investing in composite doors and double glazing ( http://www.force8.co.uk/index.php ).
The home fixtures can
help to boost insulation, allowing people to turn down their central heating and save money as a result.
