Double glazing news - First time buying expected to fall
The number of first-time buyers in the UK has fallen, but those who are lucky enough to be a position to climb the property ladder may wish to look
out for features such as PVCu windows with double glazing ( http://www.force8.co.uk/index.php ).
New figures from
GfK Financial, which is part of GfK NOP, have revealed that number of first-time buyers on the market has dropped to below 350,000 for the first time
in two decades.
The data reveals that 347,000 people took out a mortgage for the first time in the last year, 100,000 fewer than the previous
low in February 1993.
However, Helen Adams, managing director of FirstRungNow.com, said the news is "absolutely to be
expected".
"The mortgage lenders are reluctant to lend more than 85 per cent or 90 per cent of the property value whereas a few
years ago it was quite easy for first time buyers to get loans," she added.
Britons who are in a position to buy their first home are
offered valuable advice by the Energy Saving Trust.
The group recommends that buyers look for homes that already have double glazing installed in order to avoid an expensive upgrade when they move
in.
Such PVCu windows can help to lower the amount of heat that is typically lost from a home by as much as half.
Force 8 supply and install a full range of PVCu windows.
