One property in Milton Keynes may be a familiar place to many Britons as its arched doorways have resulted in it getting a starring role on the
television.
The property's owner Elspeth Grace has told the Independent that her arched doors provide additional space to host TV crews under and her house has now appeared in the Sainsbury's Christmas advert,
which saw presenters Ant and Dec and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver preparing a feast in her kitchen.
As well as getting paid, Ms Grace was able
to witness first-hand the hustle and bustle of filming a high profile advertising campaign, as the TV crew squeezed into her home's wide corridors and
under her arched doors.
However, while arched doors are useful in creating new space, they can also add a sense of history
to a property.
The Guardian's Jonathan Jones recently stated that the arch was a "stroke of brilliant practical engineering" as it
distributes weight equally downwards on to the two ends.
