Britons looking at ways to make the most of their homes may be inspired by the work carried out by Fiona and David Mair on their property in
Aberdeen.
According to the Press and Journal, the couple are set to move but are so attached to their old house they will not be selling it
but renting it out.
When they first moved in - after being sold on its views - they took on the task of renovating it, which included having
double glazing installed, where people can enjoy the views over the
gardens.
"The location and the views from the property sold it to us as it is in such a nice spot, but it needed a lot of work - it had
single glazing throughout and the boiler kept packing in," Ms Mair explains.
As well as making the most of views, double glazing can also significantly cut down the amount of heat lost from a
property.
Another property on sale in Scotland is Grantleigh, which the news resource notes has been brought up to date with a conservatory,
while maintaining its more historic features of arched windows.
