Britons looking for ways to add natural light to their homes may wish to fit new arch windows, after taking inspiration from a property currently on sale in the north of England.
Karen Overbury, in an
article for Newcastle's the Journal, states that the Steadings development, situated in the village of Warkworth, in Northumberland, has
"idyllic" countryside views, which may be enjoyed more through the arch
windows that one of the houses feature.
The properties are eco-friendly and include solar panels, underflow heating and double glazing, "enabling them to achieve a minimal carbon footprint", she
notes.
Ms Overbury adds that one of the houses - developed by Culsmore - still on sale features arched windows to the lounge.
And adding arched windows could also help to create a more continental feel in a home, as well as making use
of the surrounding views and natural light.
The Press and Journal recently reported that Willowvale, owned by Dick and Robyn Ruane, is the
only property designed to look like an Alpine house in the seaside town of Nairn, in the Scottish Highlands.
The property has made a feature
of arched doors and windows.
