This Easter bank holiday weekend, many homeowners across the UK plan to carry out some home improvements, it has been found - and hanging new composite doors could be one way to update a property.
According to research by Churchill
Home Insurance, over a quarter of householders have plans to dig out their DIY tools and get painting, decorating or renovating.
And it
appears more men are keen to spend the weekend getting stuck into DIY than women.
However, the study found that many people may not have
adequate insurance to cover them in the event of a home improvement mishap.
Indeed, one in ten 18 to 34-year-olds have admitted to damaging
their home or contents following an accident while renovating, with women forking out an average of £146 to cover repairs, compared to £90
for men.
Martin Scott, head of Churchill Home Insurance, said: "Householders who have elected to include accidental damage cover under
their home insurance policy have the added reassurance that they are covered if a DIY accident causes damage in the home."
One home
improvement job Britons may like to carry out is fitting new composite doors, which could
breathe new life into the facade of a property.
Cheshiredouble glazing supplier Force 8 stocks a range of composite doors in different styles and colours and each order comes with a DVD guiding people through the job, which it estimates
will take just two hours.
Force 8 supply a full range of arched and composite
doors.
