Basic home improvement skills need to be reintroduced into family life, one sector commentator has claimed - and hanging new composite doors could be a good project to demonstrate this.
Francesca Gamble, press
officer for the Ideal Home Show, said people are getting a "little bit lazy" as they lose the DIY skills many boasted several years
ago.
"If your kids aren't watching you do it then they are never going to learn, so their first point of call wouldn't be to do it
themselves; it would be to phone somebody up," she explained.
Ms Gamble added it is important these basic skills are integrated into
family life in order that they can then be passed on through the generations.
Her comments come after research from Mintel showed that two
million people have stopped performing DIY tasks in the last two years.
However, basic home improvements could be a good way of breathing new
life into an old property.
With this in mind, people may wish to consider choosing new composite doors from Force 8, which could help to brighten up the entrance to their homes.
Furthermore, the fixtures come
with an instructional DVD which can see people hanging the new doors in just two hours, in addition to removing their old front doors.
Force 8 supply a full range
of arched and composite doors.
