Britons hoping to sell their property this year but who are concerned about the recent decline in house prices may wish to invest in composite doors and double
glazing.
This is because both products can hep to boost the insulation of a home, making it more energy efficient and leading to lower
utility bills as a result.
According to the Energy Saving Trust, double
glazing can cut the amount of heat lost through windows by 50 per
cent.
Meanwhile, unlike timber front doors, composite doors are not prone to cracking, twisting or warping in hot weather - which can result in cold draughts leaking in once
the temperature drops.
Such home improvements may help to attract buyers to a property, which could be useful after Paul Holmes, chief
executive officer of Firstrung, warned house prices look set to decrease over the coming months.
"House prices will now continue on a
slow, downward spiral until we reach a peak to trough fall of about 30 per cent," he explained.
