Britons who are concerned about being "messed around" by estate agents are becoming increasingly attracted to the immediacy of property
auctions, one sector commentator has claimed.
Chris Coleman-Smith, auction director at Savills, said the group had seen an 87 per cent
success rate in the auction rooms this year.
"The main thing about auctions that a lot of people miss and that a lot of our punters that
come to the auction appreciate, [is that] you can buy a property on the day," he explained.
Mr Coleman-Smith added that consumers come
to property auctions because they either buy a new home or they do not, with the same being true for the seller.
However, when purchasing a
new home through auction, Britons may first wish t make sure it has double
glazing.
Double glazing can reduce heat loss by 50 per cent, lower the
build up of condensation which can cause mould and keep out any unwanted exterior noise.
New homeowners may also wish to consider composite doors, which are also better able to keep out cold exterior draughts than timber
doors.
