Conservatories and PVCu windows 'can cut heat loss'

Britons looking to increase their family living space but who are not in a position to move up the property ladder may wish to consider browsing conservatories.

According to the Conservatory Outlet, the glass extensions are able to utilise the heat from the sun to heat the space, which can then be transferred through to the living area of the home.

"This means that you need not turn on your heating should you still be feeling the cold indoors, therefore bringing a very noticeable reduction in your energy bills over time," Earth Times reports.

Furthermore, modern conservatories are a convenient place to install furniture such as a television, which could mean people have plenty of opportunities to soak up the sun as they relax in the summer.

Meanwhile, the Conservatory Outlet also recommends PVCu windows as a good investment, as they are sealed tightly to keep put draughts, while heat lost through the double glazing is "practically eliminated".

The Energy Saving Trust echoes this statement, claiming double glazing can reduce the amount of heat lost through windows by 50 per cent.
