One eco-friendly innovator has revealed how double glazing fitted to his shed has allowed him to help the planet.
Neil Sinclair is among the
Britons who took up the challenge of becoming as environmentally friendly as possible over the past year, reports the Times.
And his
innovative application of double glazing has the publication calling for him to be granted a prize in recognition.
Mr Sinclair explains that
he was previously working from his home - and heating the property during the day.
But, as he was the only person present, he realised this
was a lot to spend on heating for one man.
So he fitted double glazing and insulation to his shed and began to work from there
instead.
The move marks a departure from his previous lifestyle, where he would heat the entire house in winter to the point where he had to
wear a short-sleeved shirt.
Ongoing work from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is working to address sustainability
issues in the windows market and identify issues relating to the environment and glass, plastic and double glazed windows.
