
Confidence in the housing market has reached its highest level since the on-set of the recession, it has been revealed, as Britons are advised to look
out for double glazing when they view a potential new home.
Research by
Zoopla.co.uk has found that 81 per cent of people think house prices will rise further during the next six months, while only nine per cent predict
they will fall.
This is in comparison to one year ago, when just 30 per cent of homeowners predicted property prices would
increase.
Commenting on the news, Selwyn Lim, director at Mouseprice.com, said: "It is definitely encouraging and I think that once the
results of the next election materialise, then there will be a lot more certainty about what will be the state of play for the next five
years."
He added that this would also serve to boost confidence further.
When looking round a potential new home for the first
time, the Energy Saving Trust advises buyers to look out for fixtures such as double
glazing.
This is because the windows can help to reduce heat loss by up to
half, while they can also lower the level of unwanted exterior noise coming into a home, along with the build-up of condensation.
