Property prices are on the increase, along with housing supply, meaning now may be a good time to purchase a new home - and insulating features such
as double glazing and composite doors could help to attract buyers.
During the
credit crunch and later recession, many consumers may have put any plans they had to climb up the housing ladder on the backburner as the property
market slumped.
However, the latest figures from Rightmove.co.uk have revealed that the average house is now priced at £235,512, while
supply is at its highest level since October.
Lucian Cook, director at Savills, said: "We are dealing in a period of relatively low
transaction levels and therefore you do expect to see some volatility in house prices."
However, people who wish to take advantage of
rising prices by putting their home up for sale could find there are further steps they could take to attract buyers.
Good levels of
insulation are important to property viewers, according to the Energy Saving Trust, as it could help them to achieve lower utility bills, which may
mean composite doors and double
glazing are worthwhile investments.
