Ventilation is not something that homeowners just want, it is something they need, according to one sector commentator - and it could be said that composite doors and double
glazing boost a property's ventilation.
James Starkey, managing director at Starkey Systems, said that next winter Britons would get
caught out again by their heating bills which meant that people were now coming to realise the importance of getting the right windows.
He explained that windows which featured a triple vent could be having a negative effect of heating bills as they either let cold air in or the hot
air out.
Britons keen to boost their ventilation by replacing their windows
may find that PVCu windows offer the solution as, unlike wooden frames, they do not
twist in wet weather to let cold air in through the gaps.
This could also boost a home's energy efficiency.
The Energy Saving Trust
recently reported that the average household could save around £300 per year by being more energy efficient.
