One Stoke-on-Trent pub is appealing the decision which has seen it required to close its doors early, although the appeal has been adjourned, it is
reported.
According to the Sentinel, the West End in Stoke is having its license reviewed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council following a
complaint lodged by Staffordshire police.
The public house has now been asked to install double glazing and make improvements to its exterior doors in order to stop
any unwanted noise leaking out and disturbing nearby residents.
It is also now required to close earlier in the evening.
In addition
to keeping out any unwanted exterior noise, double glazing can also help homeowners who
have it ensure that their own noise does not disturb those living nearby.
Further benefits of double glazing include its insulating qualities and its ability to keep condensation to a minimum.
Composite doors may also be useful in reducing noise, as the doors do not crack or twist in cold
weather to allow gaps to form
